Great industy focus, poor execution

Pros

The company focuses on a much needed service in the market. By helping organizations screen and monitor medical and pharmaceutical practitioners you help keep the bad guys off the street and improve healthcare. Some flexibility to telecommute is nice. Push to follow Agile SCRUM methodologies. Limited company paid training is also available.

Cons

Churn and burn, sweatshop. The senior management that was responsible for the "Great Place to Work" awards were forced out along with a number of other people and developers. In the past, entire teams of developers have quit on the spot and fear is that this kind of culture will return. A very start up culture where owners of the company switch directions almost daily to try and land a deal rather than focus on market needs. This puts people in "survive or die" mode where people try and look like they are working or avoid blame in order to keep their jobs. There is some new management but owners are still going around the system to ask developers to do things that take them away from previous stated objectives. Management won't talk about how much money the company makes so you have no real way to measure your performance.

Pros

Great benefits and ok work/life balance. Some people genuinely care about the success of employees.

Cons

Upper management is only concerned about the dollar, therefore, teams are short staffed, supervisors are stressed and overworked trying to get out workload. Senior management needs to learn some serious delegation skills. Tries to do everything themselves and in turn hurts those down the line. Senior management only cares about their own success and is quick to fire anyone who is a threat.

Toxic work environment

Pros

Everyone that I worked with were smart, passionate and hard working people.

Cons

I would give Verisys 0 stars if it were possible! - Employees back-stab each other because they are fearful of losing their job. - Favoritism is rampant in the office and it is noticeable by all. If an employee is not a 'Yes, Sir' person or doesn't bow down to upper management then it will be a result of the person leaving, one way or another. - The company says they are Agile but they're not. They higher P.O.s, scrum masters, etc to appear Agile and then they don't follow the process. - The company does not empower their employees. It bullies them. - DevOps works their butt off to make sure the engineering team has working environments. The DevOps team works on week nights and weekends for 3 months in order to put out all the fires. The managers never thanked them once. Management just expect them to do it. The work environment is toxic. You have been warned!
