Pros

Good company to work for Understands family values Strong emphasis on safety

Cons

Communication is not a high priority between upper management (Castle on the Hill) and laborers/office staff (The Little Guy)...seems like they are trying and just as quickly it falls to the wayside again

Thanks for the candid review and your analogy. Communication is actually a very high priority as part of the Veritiv Values of People Commitment and One Team. From your perspective, we must do more. I do hope you check out Veritiv's intranet and especially the biweekly Veritiv Voice, our newsletter that regular features "The Little Guys," as you put it. We are always working harder to improve communication to keep everyone connected and informed of strategies and priorities.

Sales Position

Pros

Great distribution company. A lot of great products to sell. Good benefits.

Cons

Seems to be moving away from being a true sales organization. Recently laid off many salespeople nationwide due to a softness in one of their key market segments. A sales organization that lays-off straight commission sellers to reduce costs and hires non-commissioned replacements will become something else entirely.

We appreciate your thoughts and your more than 10 years of service to Veritiv and its legacy companies. With the industry changing so rapidly, Veritiv has definitely had to make changes to keep up with the evolving environment. Part of that involves moving into a market-led strategy and away from a sales-led strategy, whereby the market and our customers drive our product line. So Veritiv is changing and becoming a stronger, more sustainable company because it can respond to the needs of its customers and the industry.

Terrible Company with Terrible Bosses

Pros

There are good co-workers.

Cons

I had a terrible boss and a terrible boss's boss. My boss ran my department into the ground by assigning us more and more worker and abusing his power. He made sure that he got all of the benefits, and we only got a few benefits. He yelled at us for not performing up to standards when he is one of the laziest people that I have ever met. He actually ended up getting a promotion. Meanwhile, my boss's boss fired me because of my "attitude" problem. My attitude was just a response to my boss being a bully and abusing his power.
