Pros

Good to enhance experience and touch various areas of the business. Good coworkers.

Cons

Veritiv struggles to retain quality talent on their CSP teams due to poor management and insufficient compensation for this role. Top performers routinely leave. Subpar hiring practices result in replacement staff who lack the aptitude for inheriting the roles of those who leave, and these new hires are rarely retained. The inability of management to maintain a full team leads them to actively suppress members of these teams from internal advancement. Management maintains a 12 week notice policy for all internal promotions and has veto power for all promotions to external departments. The only way up is out.

Pros

Benefits are good. Culture is good overall. Company seems to care about its employees. Not a lot of feedback from corporate though.

Cons

Undecided on cons. Office is not in a great local and traffic is terrible. No flexing in work hours. Wish they would consider that.

Branch: Calgary reviews

Pros

Employees will brag that they work in Forbes 500 multi-billion dollar company.

Cons

Calgary is one of the most worst employees branch in Canada. Most of the employees have negative minds, childish behaviors. Poor management, poor morale, verbal bullying do frequently show up in Calgary and they are unavoidable. Calgary has the top highest turnovers ever due to undermined employees, negative culture, high micromanagement. A person's actions will tell you everything you need to know about Calgary from all departments in the office to the warehouse. Operations Managers and Human Resources will listen and do absolutely nothing in the end when they see employees bullying each others. Speaking up only cause to backlash back. Policies and code of conduct are useless. Customer Service Professionals, Warehouse Supervisors, Distribution Assistants are the crappiest positions ever. That is the reason why company has open postings all the time. Stay away those positions. Outsiders do not know that and the branch keeps it secret to the public. Employees leave because of toxic culture, destructive managers, gloomy motivations. Only time will tell what company really is. Understaffed, high volume of work with no help, poor behaviors, negative unionized employees, out-of-date system, high non-union employees turnover, and unkind managements make the branch from bad to worst. There are many negative signs that Calgary is not a positive environment to work. Do not spend time applying jobs in Veritiv Calgary. You will regard the decisions you made. It is wise to apply to other jobs. Veritiv Calgary is not a place for long term employments and not a great future to stay.
