Pros

Amenities are really the only pros. Such as snacks and a game room.

Cons

You’re expected to travel often and work on-call, especially early morning and late evenings. while also attending social events frequently. Expect to work weekend as well.

Pros

Lunches are great and building location is cool.

Cons

Sales managers are toxic and look down on their teams. Quota attainment is very very low and those succeeding have great territories.

Pros

I have been with Verkada for over a year and have seen quite a bit of change in my tenure. The company has a fantastic vision for where it wants to be and it is motivating to be a part of. The concern is that it is growing far to fast and does not care about the churn the growth has caused. We are all just a number. The people are the best part. They are some of the most motivated and intelligent individuals I have ever had the opportunity to work with. Most I would call my friends outside of work. The HQ office is an incredible place to work. I would say I look forward to going there every day. But it does get old, no flexibility to work remote a day or two a week. The product is bar none the best on the market. If you can get it in front of people with current projects, you can be very successful. If you are not committed to waking up every single day and grinding, you will get burned out quickly.

Cons

It is scary how quickly the company is growing with no concern for the churn it is causing. Territories are getting split almost every other quarter and quotas only go up, even in a recession. The new products are helpful but not enough to support the growth. The TAM is huge but once the camera market drys out in a few years the other products will not be enough to support the insane quotas. Territory lottery is so real. The recruiters are liars and will say anything to get you to move across the country just to give you a split territory with no current customers or channel support where you basically do not stand a chance. You can make far more money for this amount of work in other sales jobs. To address these growing problems the company is focusing on activity to try and increase pipeline. There are limited decision makers in accounts, most all have already been spammed for years by marketing. This is a bandaid fix that will not last and will only drive more people away from the company. Work life balance is just not there, especially in the associate program. You have unlimited PTO but you will be shamed and guilted for using it.
