Cons

Verkada used to have a strong culture, but that’s died out. It’s tough to keep energy high when most people aren’t hitting quota, and the lack of success has taken a toll on morale. Leadership is a major issue, from the top all the way down to front-line managers. A lot of the leaders used to care, but when nothing changes at the top they’ve all given up. Most leaders are in their first leadership role. There’s no real accountability, and most people in leadership roles are just coasting, hoping to cash in on equity. No one challenges the status quo or tries to drive meaningful change, which only makes things worse. The path to making real money as an AE is over. Quotas are unrealistic, and if your territory is good enough to hit quota, leadership will often increase quota to make it harder to over-perform. Growth reps are struggling across the board. Success usually comes down to luck rather than support or strategy. There’s zero focus on development. If you want to grow, you’re on your own. Promotions often come down to favoritism rather than performance or leadership ability, so being in the right circle matters more than what you contribute. Even top performers get overlooked, under-supported, or burned out. The product is solid, but inside the company, it feels like people are just going through the motions. Verkada sells the idea of fast growth and opportunity, but behind the scenes, it’s mostly politics and stagnation. (They delete Glassdoor reviews too)
