Pros

I have worked in Highway Toll Administrations customer service department for 2 years now and it's honestly a very wonderful job. I learned a huge amount about customer service while working in this department. There is always someone there to help you if you need assistance with a customer. They have coaching sessions that teach you how to better interact with your customers over the phone. My overall experience working here has been nothing but amazing.

Cons

I don't have any cons about this company. It's a very small company that will continue to grow into something extraordinary.

Pros

There is a nice coffee machine. There are standing desks. It is in a good location (Mesa Riverview- Alma School and the 202). The rank and file employees all seem to be really cool and fairly talented. Pay is alright - but that is the only way they are keeping some key talent. They have a family friendly holiday party every December where you can bring your spouse or SO and any kids you have.

Cons

Oh lots. As of this writing - the company was just sold to a private equity firm based in LA (Platinum Capital Equity). So keep that in mind if you are considering moving here. PE firms exist to drive profits, so I am guessing that any ethics that still exist are soon to be snuffed out in the relentless pursuit to drive profits for shareholders. Really the biggest issues stem from a lack of organization and clear focus from the upper levels. There have been a series of significant layoffs and multiple key team members voluntarily leaving the company starting in Winter 2016 due to unexpected and seemingly random decisions to refocus where the company is heading and what products will be showcased. Tribal knowledge is the standard practice vs. the exception. There is literally zero on-boarding process, and you are expected to deliver results from literally the first day on the job (which is impossible since you don't even know the business). "The Client Is Always Right" mentality is pervasive, to the point where other projects are routinely interrupted and forced to be completed haphazardly as new critical projects are introduced very close to promised delivery dates. Certain positions do not have job duties that you would expect them to be part of, apparently in order to retain control over processes instead of being collaborative. This puts excessive pressure on a small number of employees while under-utilizing others. There is no real effort to create and promote job opportunities from within. They provide lunch for the building at quarterly informational meetings - but they do not cater to even the most basic of dietary restrictions (vegetarians, I hope you like iceberg lettuce with a side of iceberg lettuce, and an additional side of pastries). Also I have seen senior employees who have devoted an exceptional amount of time and talent to projects completely broken after the work they have been devoted to for 6 months or a year is completely scrapped in favor of a new idea because the product focus has shifted. Really everything is a fire and of critical importance, and the regular employees and managers do their best to keep it all under control, but it feels like a house of cards that is sitting on the San Andreas fault line.

Disappointing Changes

Pros

There were truly some wonderful people at ATS when I arrived. They were proud of their work and were willing to help out at every turn. For a time, even while dealing with significant headwinds, employees felt valued and trusted.

Cons

While I left the company in 2015, from those with whom I stay in touch say nothing has changed. David Roberts is focused on one thing: selling ATS at all costs. Since his arrival, he has forsaken institutional knowledge and quality people and replaced them with executives in his own making: Unconcerned about ATS employees and their wellbeing, singularly focused on, as David loves to say "Shareholders." In meetings with David, he openly berates senior leaders and says nothing when his senior leadership team does the same to mid level managers and employees. He once offhandedly dismissed employee concerns with a "they're just lucky to be here" comment. And that truly sums up his philosophy since arriving at ATS. Employees are disposable "things." To top it off David pushes out a very "Christian" corporate message, which, in addition to making some employees uncomfortable, is laughably out of sync with how he treats those around him. If you are seriously considering a position with ATS, I'd advise you to consider it as a short term venture, at best. You can be sure that the senior leaders of ATS consider you in the same manner. On the plus side, if you directly hired by David or one of his senior leadership team, chances are you'll be on the short list for a promotion. Those were exceedingly rare during my tenure.
