Decent, but room for improvement

Pros

Good benefits, helpful kennel staff, new computers, routine team meetings with "kudos" for doing anything helpful, grooming on other side of building, no evening work, have every other weekend off, appointment based.

Cons

Tech manager lacks communication skills and a friendly attitude (very combative), hospital manager has no veterinary experience, slow to get rid of paper systems when set up to be paperless, receptionists require a great deal of help from other staff members who already have too much on their plates, hospital manager uncomfortable with non-certified techs helping in surgery, high stress environment, routinely understaffed with no policy on attendance (or anything, really), breaks aren't guaranteed.

Pros

Working in the Veterinary industry gives you the opportunity to wake up to a different challenge each day. We get to work with great clients, teams and their pets. With over 200 practices, there are opportunities to grow not only in your current location as well as the ability to transfer to another location within the VetCor family. VetCor allows for a work/life balance. Being a single parent, I have been given the ability to work a FT schedule with flexibility built in, allowing me to enjoy much needed time with my family and friends outside of work as well.

Cons

As with any young company, there has been growing pains in the past. I have been with VetCor for over 10 years and have always seen an ability to recognize shortfalls matched with a positive response to make an improvement that benefits the majority.
