Pros

I have worked for VetCor for about 8 years. I started my career here as an AP specialist right out of college and worked my way up to a Jr. Staff Accountant. A Sr. Staff Accountant opportunity presented itself at larger corporation which I left to pursue. However, the call of VetCor beckoned me back several years later and I happily brought my large corporation experience with me to take on a Sr. Staff Accountant position. Over the last 5 years, I’ve grown professionally and personally, moving from Sr. Staff Accountant to Accounting Manager and now Corporate Controller all while welcoming my first child (soon to be two!). I attribute my success to an environment that promotes leadership and mentoring as well as a great work/life balance that made the transition into a full-time working mother feel easy. VetCor is a great company to come to work for each day and I am living, breathing proof that the work environment encourages both personal and professional growth.

Cons

Systems/processes are still catching up to their rapid growth.

Pros

Great work environment Excellent benefits including medical, dental, 401 (k) and continuing education Each practice has complete discretion in setting protocols, choosing products, and making all medical decisions. VetCor supplies the marketing, accounting and legal departments, negotiates with vendors and laboratories for best prices and handles payroll and benefits.

Cons

There are really no downsides - VetCor really is the company they say they are. There business model is to provide business support so veterinarians can provide excellent service to clients and pets and practice excellent medicine.
