Pros

Great company benefits to the employees: health insurance that is reasonable in cost including health, dental & vision, 401k, quarterly bonuses, PTO, paid holidays, discounted services & products, They have a large team that can help in all faucet of the business

Cons

Going from a private owner to a corporation can be scary, and the transition can be bumpy but mostly for management, the rest of the staff just keep working as usual. This is not a con but after the acclimation of transition everything goes back to normal.

Good Corporation

Pros

They truly do have a hands off approach to veterinary hospitals as long as you are stable. Our hospital environment did not change. They don't tell you how to practice medicine or manage your employees. We had a very successful hospital when it sold and literally the only changes have been accounting procedures.

Cons

If you are not profitable you can't afford salary increases. A lot of the complaints I see written here are directly related to how the hospital is run on a day to day basis and if those individuals are doing a mediocre to poor job there will be problems. Also privately run veterinary hospitals have a horrible reputation for not pricing appropriately and then staff get upset about what they interpret as greed when prices go up. There really have been no cons although I would agree working thru the channels to get equipment can be slow and tedious sometimes.

Pros

I have been an Associate Veterinarian and Chief of Staff for Vetcor since 2013. Yes, they are a corporation, but they are what I like to call "silent". You don't even know they are present in your clinic! Our clinic has its own name and nowhere does it advertise that we are owned by Vetcor. Many of our clients don't even know we are a corporate hospital. We are not keeping it a secret, but they are that silent, that you wouldn't even know! They offer unwavering support anywhere from their Regional Manager, VP, CEO, HR, web support, to legal support. They WANT you to succeed and they offer resources and people to help you along the way. The surrounding hospitals are in group emails with each other, which is a great support group and helpful for round table discussions!

Cons

I have no complaints! Vetcor breaks the mold in regards to "corporate vet hospitals".
