Pros

Flexible work schedule. Understanding when it comes to taking time off, work/life balance. Genuinely nice co-workers. That’s about it. There use to be more but those days have been gone for a long time.

Cons

Where to start? Being overworked and under-appreciated/lack of raises for going above and beyond and taking on more responsibilities. One of the greatest things I have learned in my 7+ years here is that if you show a lot of initiative and take on increasingly more responsibilities you get nothing. I finally was burnt out enough that I had to quit. Received a small bump/cost of living increase but after the New Year and increase in health insurance it is barely noticeable. The spring/summer of 2014 there was a tremendous amount of people quitting because they found better positions. I am sure this cost of living increase was just something they HAD to do to “calm the hunger” and to try to stop more people from leaving. They have gone from one extreme to another when it comes to performance reviews – hardly getting one to now getting a quarterly coaching. There is a possibility there would be an adjustment in your pay on your anniversary date now but it’s not guaranteed. 401k match is at an extreme minimum. They are not doing a great job at keeping long term employees. Advice to Job Seekers: Try looking here in about 3-7 years. They might be more profitable then and can afford to give proper benefits/raises. Compare annual sales of companies during your job search. You’ll see just where VetSource is and stands. If you want just a job then go ahead and apply. Unfair treatment has been an ongoing issue and still continues. Not just with me but with other current and ex co-workers. Work Hard. Have Fun. This is their motto but it feels like it should be Work Hard & Harder. Have Fun, Elsewhere. Again, everyone is overworked and there is no time for fun. It feels forced now because you’ll get a plus or minus on your quarterly coaching for Work Hard. Have Fun. Better have fun or you’ll get a MINUS! This was a fun place at one time and that was because it came naturally. What made VetSource fun was the people and most of the fun people have moved on to better jobs. There was a natural sense of camaraderie. That feeling is hard to get back. It just happens. Use to be a great place but became just a job and at times a Thankless Job at that!

Pros

No dress code, could bring my dog to work, ok medical coverage, paid time off and hour long lunch breaks.

Cons

Not enough pay for the work load, catty co-workers and lax management. High turnover rate because people realize for their licensing/qualifications should be getting paid more.
