Pros
Discounts, free products, pretty mindless, easy sales if you are a halfway attractive woman who can speak clearly, appears glamorous to the post teenage girl
Cons
I worked here during my summers at home during college, on top of completing unpaid internships when I wasn't working (ugh). My third summer, I ended up quitting VS because my manager was so incompetent at scheduling me- all i asked for was nights T, W, R, and weekends. The training was a joke- you have to know everything about these products (luckily, I'd been shopping here since I was 12 so it was a breeze) or you'll be an awful salesperson. I felt horrible being forced to ask people who barely spoke English to open a credit account- on several occasions I helped women open accounts who clearly had no idea what they were getting into. The manager stood behind me and praised me for closing the deal so quickly. CREDIT = UNETHICAL. Also, tons of shrink. TONS. We were hit by so many shoplifters... oh, and it's pretty embarrassing and inconvenient to have to be walked out by a manager after your shift, who then rummages through your bags. What is the world coming to?
