Pros

Semi-flexible schedule. A couple of nice co-workers.

Cons

-Management is extremely disrespectful -The job sucks -You'll often stay hours after closing time fixing stuff that should've been done by someone else. -Pay is terrible -Company will often try and not pay you all of your hours. Make sure to count your hours closely because plenty of mine went missing on paychecks.

Pros

Great health insurance and time off opportunities.

Cons

The company to political. If you are not a personal favorite of a supervisor you won't have an opportunity to move up. The trainings are full of smoke and mirrors and are pure propaganda. People that work hard and enjoy helping their customers are not recognized unless they are part of the "cool kids".

Pros

Great structure if you love a structured environment. Great benefits. Great learning programs to teach about new products and selling strategies. Fast paced environment. Very Fashion Forward company to work for. Can be a great company to work for when working for the right manager. Nice Discounts and free/discounted bras almost every other month.

Cons

Corporate is not always in line with each other which creates communication breakdowns at the store level. "Work Life Balance" doesn't exist at the store manager level. Trying to be proactive in writing a schedule always seemed pointless when your DM would not stick to her schedule and expects you to rearrange your life for hers. The DM that I worked for is clueless to her position. She reiterated everything literally from her conference calls but had no understanding of it. She doesn't know how to CSL, write a schedule, sell credit or bra fit. So, how could she coach to it? She expected her Store managers to do all the training and onboarding of new store managers. Some training is okay...But all of it??? As if we didn't have anything else to do. With this economy and no payroll, we're floor coverage! She needs to get off her behind and train her people. She visits the same 3 stores weekly because they're close to her home!!!! She gives VSS DM's a bad name. Luckily for me...I know better. I know that VSS does have some really great DM's...it's too bad someone like my DM left a bad impression!!! What's worse is that when districts were realigned...they kept this non performing DM instead of moving a DM that was performing and was in touch with what was going on at store levels. Thought it was based on performance...not seniority, NOT!!!
