Pros

Pay structure isn't bad, per say. But it could be a lot better. Lets just say that a lot of people in this company are making great money. But sales consultants......not so much. Employee discount is bot bad, but the accessories are way over priced so you end paying more than what you would elsewhere still, in most cases.

Cons

Constantly changing schedule. Sometimes with less than a days notice. No option is given. EVERYTHING is your fault. Always. There is no explanation as to why sales are low, other than you are not doing your job properly. The other reviews are not exaggerating one bit. If you work here, prepare to be constantly threatened and intimidated. You had better have a perfect sale. Every time. Or else. Upper management is not willing to work with consultants to help better their sales. They only know how to threaten because thats how this company operates. On a conference call, Upper management actually blamed the bad glassdoor reviews for A Wireless on "poor performing employees who have no one to blame but themselves". Again, they are not accountable. Ever. The blunt of everything wrong with the company is blamed solely on the sales consultants. Its clear that they are not even willing to review any of the issues that may be caused by higher ups or just the way the CEO runs his company in general. Pricing is outrageous and not competitive whatsoever. A wireless is maybe the only cellular store I have ever seen that offers no free phones. Customers constantly walk out and take their business elsewhere. And who can blame them? Its pretty common knowledge that you can get free, penny or dollar phones anywhere when upgrading. We lose customers everyday because of the non competitive pricing. And yes, the other reviews are true. A Wireless does NOT pay its employees for extra work that they require you to do. And regardless of what they say, it is required. You are told via email and by upper management that off the clock conference calls are mandatory. I wish I kept track of the time I have spent on calls in the 3 years I have worked for this company. They would owe me a lot of compensation. The same with GroupMe. You are told that it is required to be checked on your days off. Those who do not participate on days off are talked to about it. The mandatory "greeting" is ridiculous. Most people do not want to shake your hand. Especially during cold and flu season.

An email was sent from the CEO to all leaders in the company reminding them that all conference calls and groupme, etc can not be required when employees are off. If you still have this issue, please file a complaint with HR so it can be resolved. Thank you. We have not offered phones for free before a rebate for years because we find the customers' charge back rate on these phones so high it makes it unprofitable.

Pros

Store leadership is very good. They really care about you selling, because their money is made off of what you sell. They push you, but are usually kind and encouraging.

Cons

Top performers are making around $22,000 per year. Good performers are making about $15,000 per year. The commission structures are intentionally set to keep you from making good money. The company is expanding quickly and they don't have the budget to pay their employees. If you need more than $15,000 per year, please don't apply here. If you are good working full time for about $15,000 per year, then this really isn't a bad job. When hiring, they will promise unlimited earning potential. Just like any commissioned job, this is technically true. But you'd have to work hundred hour weeks to make decent money.

Pros

Can make great money.... if you're in an extremely busy location. Your team really determines how good/bad things will be.

Cons

There are more cons than anything else with this company. Higher ups do not care about their employees. Continuously cutting commission on items you sell. Preach about being a "people first" organization but NOTHING they do is people first. It is POCKET FIRST. Ridiculously high goals and expectations. Will fire you without just cause. Company realignments frequently, positions being eliminated constantly. Feels like they're pushing out tenured employees to make room for new employees that they don't have to pay as much. Hourly wage is a JOKE. Will fire DMs & GMs for no reason, will claim its performance based when in reality it is allll a popularity contest and based off of who is a yes man and who will drink the corporate kool aid. Staffing crisis in almost every single location, which leaves 1 person from open to close every single day.
