Pros

Provide direct care and service to young adults, adults and elderly with serious and persistent mental health challenges. Co-workers are wonderful. Flexible scheduling. Vacation and holiday time.

Cons

Worsening employee benefits. Costly medical insurance and STD plans. Limited support and recognition offered to those in most challenging positions. Communication of changes within agency is poor. Trying to pay as little as possible to employees in order to gain more contacts from DMH. Worsening care being given to persons served.

Pros

Nothing. There is nothing I can say that is good about this job. I will fulfill the 20 word minimum requirement and say nothing good!!!!

Cons

Very low pay for the amount of work you do, if you aren't in with the clic you mine as well just let them fire you, no back up of there's an issue, way too over worked and NO ONE CARES. They don't care if you've already worked 60 hours that week they expect you there at all hours of day and night and if you are salaried you will NOT be compensated. Supervisors will go behind your back and lie to make themselves look good. I wouldn't wish anyone to work there. When there is a class action law suit I will be more than happy to jump on it. DO NOT WORK THERE!!!!!!

Pros

It’s honorable and necessary work.

Cons

Recently licensed social workers write unrealistic treatment plans with clinical level interventions for staff who can not fluently read, write, or speak English. Because those staff are unskilled, and not properly trained they either harass patients or most often just fabricate notes to fulfill billing quotas. This is the bread and butter of vinfen. Fabricating notes to bill DMH. The clients often engage in risky, threatening behavior and verbally abuse the low paid staff. The recently licensed social workers are ill equipped and the system makes it incredibly difficult to address potentially violent threatening behavior.. The staff is not respected by management. They are verbally abused by clients, put into dangerous situations and payed almost nothing. Lover half the staff leave each year and there is a constant staffing shortage because of this. The only thing that matters is that unskilled, poorly trained, Staff who have likely only been there for 6 months write notes to bill DMH. DMH is in on the game too. It’s a fraud and dangerous.
