Pros

They reward hard work, and there is opportunity to move up. Good benefits. If you find the work interesting (I did not) it's a good company to work for.

Cons

Long hours (55+/week). You spend 90% of your time by yourself at a computer. It was never clear to me what was expected of me. I had 3 supervisors/bosses, and their instructions were rarely in agreement with one another.

former employee here. learning curve is steep, if you don't keep up with others, you will be quickly abandoned. if you showed potential, you will get your chances. company sponser H1b, e-verify, green card. very good health benefit. elite group of people, from top to down.

Cons

terrible work life balance. terrible. really terrible. depending on group, you may have a very nice leader who is willing to teach or a very bad leader who just thinks you are a piece of sxxt. so if you decide to come, commit to this company for the time span till you get green card and work like a dog. if you think you are 'smart' and don't need to work as hard, you are wrong. People at cgg are all very talented, and all work like a dog, no exception.
