The cons are basically the higher position you are in, the more unstable your job may become. Many times I've seen store managers get demoted and terminated due to their low numbers. However most of the time it's not because they are not trying, but because of the economy, location of the store, or the place the mall is in is under construction. Since the downfall of the economy, almost all but 3 store managers were replaced with new managers within 2 years. The management is also pretty bad, all the lower managers are afraid of the higher managers (Store < District < Regional < VP) they are afraid to speak up to each other therefore if there is a problem they will always blame the manager below them and eventually they will put the heat on the store manager. And if the store manager is a good manager they won't pass it on and blame it on the associates. Also, if you do end up having low numbers they don't take reality in consideration- according to them, the "economy" is not an excuse- even though they raised the prices on their products. Usually they will say your training is flawed and that is why you have low numbers. Also, they stress our average sale, therefore we end up having to turn away or suggest the customers go somewhere else (like gnc) when the want to buy less than $35. Which overall hurts the store in net sales. Even though they tell us not to do it we do it anyways because we'd get more in trouble if our average is less than $35.
