Pros

A job opportunity for the Desperate!

Cons

When I joined as a Part time HOSPITALIST, was told there will be a Cap but am forced to see close to 30 patients some times. I got no training of EMR when I started. There is no structure, meetings are useless, no one hears you as its a small group and management's attitude is "My way or High way"

Pros

They value greatly midlevel providers. Mostly excellent benefits including an awesome retirement plan. Flexible work schedule and the ability to work at more than one site if so desired. Self starters and really motivated/innovative employees can go far with this company. Team driven. Mostly wonderful people to work with. Most of the supervising physicians and medical directors will take great pains to help you to improve upon yourself.

Cons

The midlevels are underpaid. If one is a midlevel, can never be a partner like the MDs or DOs, only employees. The focus is on productivity. If a site is "slipping" regarding this, then upper management steps in and the work environment suffers. It is impossible to please patients 100% of the time, but if the provider,, whether he/she be a midlevel or physician, has a consistent "poor patient satisfaction review,", there will be consequences, sometimes severe. If a site consistently is not profitable, they will withdraw from that site. Ultimately, it's all about money, as in many other companies rather than making the world a better place. Management will often be quite secretive about current situations or issues and will consistently keep you in the dark. CEP will go to great lengths to keep a contract despite the humans that keep that contract with a hospital functioning.

Pros

Good entry level position but not support. Best CME compensation compared to the other ER contractors.

Cons

Some of the worst attending Physicians I've ever worked with. Constant pressure to turn patients over even if clinically questionable. Constant pressure to see more patients. God help you if you are a MLP
