Pros

Government work is fairly easy, especially if you know what you're doing and on one else at the company knows how to handle/perform your line of work. Working remote has always been a bonus, but double check the hours they expect you to be online. Even what they have written in the contract isn't always honored. Put something in your 401K, their match is automatically vested (surprisingly).

Cons

Don't expect a raise or promotion: As of early 2025 there was no cost of living adjustment, no formal reviews, no process to help you grow your career at this company. They say a lot, but there are 0 actions taken to actually follow-through. I was told I couldn't get a raise until I wrote my own evaluation, with no guidance or outline at all. When I asked if they had read what took me forever to put together I was told it wasn't read because they knew I was a, and I quote, "rock star." But not enough of a rock star to simply be given a raise after a solid year and a half of work? OK. Negotiate your offer: Found out a senior analyst on my team was making $40K less than me, which was wild. They didn't even bring them up in salary enough to keep them, literally took them at the lowest price possible so please keep that in mind when negotiating salary. Toxic: High turnover on team due to client stress, while also finding out they replace your teammates behind their backs if their is a cultural issue between them and the client. Literally stated in client documents that were just out in the open. Basic: Paid time off is basic at best. They removed one holiday between 2023-2024, but suggest they are still competitive. But hey at least they blended the 5 sick days and the 10 PTO days into a total of 15 vacation days...

Thank you for sharing your feedback—we value both positive and constructive input as it helps us improve. We’re glad you appreciated the remote flexibility and 401(k) vesting policy. We're sorry to hear that other parts of your experience didn’t meet expectations. Career growth, fair pay, and a supportive environment are key priorities, and we’re always working to improve in those areas. In government consulting, teams are mission-driven and built to bring together diverse skills. While traditional promotion paths may differ, we encourage ongoing professional development and open career discussions within the organization. Also, remote work flexibility is primarily guided by customer requirements, especially when working with sensitive government data. Within these constraints, success is a genuine team effort, not the work of any one individual. Regarding compensation and team dynamics, roles are structured based on skills, demand, and client needs. We take concerns about toxic behavior seriously and strive to maintain a respectful, collaborative culture. We’re also exploring ways to offer clearer growth paths and more regular feedback. We also want to highlight our comprehensive and competitive benefits package, which includes: 100% Company Paid Employee-Only Medical, Dental, and Vision Plans! Cell phone/internet reimbursement - $50/Month Training reimbursement – $600/per year Equipment reimbursement – $100/per year 401(k) with Company Match – 100% on the first 3%, 50% on the remaining 2% Company Paid Basic Life Insurance Voluntary Life Insurance Short and Long Term Disability Employee Assistance Program These benefits align with industry standards in government contracting and reflect our commitment to offering meaningful support and resources to our team. At VivSoft, we strive to cultivate a positive work environment and a culture built on mutual respect. We genuinely appreciate your feedback—it plays a vital role in helping us grow and improve. Thank you for your contributions to VivSoft. We wish you continued success in your career journey.
