Pros
The work you get to do is fulfilling. Your immediate co-workers and other departments you can work and learn with are amazing.
Cons
The pay and benefits leave much to be desired, it's public health work and should be expected, but they don't truly want to invest in their employees. Anyone can be replaced for whatever reason if you disagree with management. I've seen multiple people get fired and or leave the organization because of how upper management treats them. Leaving this position to feel less like a career and work for the community and more like just another job. There is very little room to move up, it feels like they believe we are all just someone to fill a position. This is especially disappointing when they create another VP or Director position for some role they feel they need, we don't need more management, we need to be heard and taken seriously without fear of being let go.
