Massive layoffs of excellent employees to pad the bottom line

Pros

The colleagues (but definitely not senior management)

Cons

Strict and inflexible return to office push. CEO stated, "Look, if you want to work for a virtual company, this isn't the company for you." Massive layoff of something like 600 employees right before Thanksgiving - zero consideration for people's performance ratings and skill level, seemingly based heavily on remote workers. Embarrassing severance pay if you're not a leadership level employee. Leaders still do not take diversity or sexual harassment seriously. We were told by the CEO to "prioritize the WE over the ME" in the summer, so we buckled down, kept drinking the koolaid, and were still laid off. DO NOT BE LOYAL TO VIZIENT; you will regret it and it will not be returned to you.

Pros

Very interesting work in an ever evolving industry. Generous PTO. If you look, act, and talk a certain way you will move up faster than harder working/more talented peers who are less interested in socializing. Coworkers are generally supportive and nice to one another. Clean/Modern workplace that is well lit and visually appealing to walk into everyday. Fairly easy interview process as long as you show enthusiasm.

Cons

Archaic talent review process that is so heavily slanted towards "good ol' conservative american boys/gals" it is undeniable. HR doesn't seem to know or care about critical feedback and often glosses over things that are obvious problems to the average employee. Middle-management is a country club that insulates upper leadership from seeing the problems that more front line employees try to bring up. If you rock the boat in favor of change more often then not you put a target on your back. Overall lack of appreciation for employees in the largest revenue generating parts of the business. After pushing multiple mergers through in the same year, multiple re-orgs, and renegotiating all their supply chain agreements they keep asking for more without meaningfully acknowledging the strain its putting on their cash cow generating employees. Year-over-year the benefits packages have either gotten more expensive or the coverage offered has changed in favor of "being more market competitive" (code for reduced). Healthcare company that offers free soda and coffee to employees but still makes they pay for gym memberships (Discounts offered are the exact same any non-employee can get off the street). HR actively seeks to compensate internal talent that has come up the ranks and learned the business as little as possible when compared to external hires who don't know the business and often stick around for less time. They also provide minimal incentive to make lateral moves which makes no sense when considering they claim to want employees to learn different parts of the business.

They Have No Idea What They Are Doing

Pros

Came to Vizient during an acquisition. We were promised big things and have been disappointed at every turn. Most recently they went through a reorg and laid off many talented and vitally needed employees. They did it the week before Thanksgiving...got to love that. My group was blindsided and devastated by the change. The CEO then send out a voice mail to everyone to take time to "rest, relax and reflect". He and the upper management are just tone deaf and clueless. I am leaving due to them changing the terms of my contract, changing my pay structure so I'm making 35% less and I was told that I should be grateful. It's a mess and I'm heartbroken but can't wait to get out.

Cons

Upper management is tone deaf and blatantly don't care about the majority of the employees.
