Pros

The salary was OK and the office was nice.

Cons

There was zero connection between leadership and staff. Every communication was a half truth or an outright lie. Everyone was disposable and we all felt it. It made for a very unhappy work environment.

No Progression or Skill Growth

Pros

Free drink machines and popcorn. 5% bonus is better than no bonus. Good if you like doing the same predictable work in the same role for the rest of your career. I rarely if ever work over a 40 hour week. Beautiful campus cafeteria. Good food. Managers polite. Politics I've encountered rarely vicious. My years of boredom/ career stagnation here fueled my fire to massively pivot my career and scale way up.

Cons

Teams are siloed so there's not a lot of socializing. Usually feels pretty isolating. My department's a bad fit for the young driven crowd who want to build their careers and grow. It's common belief here that career progression in this company is limited to VP and above unless you're ready to apply externally to other companies or departments. In several years of annual reviews, my managers have never discussed 'this is how you can get to the next level of your career'. The best description for my experience here is a comfortable box. Some people like security and comfort of a box. I dream of bigger things.

Pros

The benefits are incredible. Flexible hours, work from home, 5 weeks PTO day-one, 12 weeks paid parental leave(maternity and paternity), paid family leave, 5% 401k match, a week paid annually to volunteer. The employees are highly-skilled, incredibly passionate about healthcare and our members and inspire great ideas. Work environment is top notch and multiple opportunities to grow in your career.

Cons

Sales teams are not aligned with business units and often sell (and are paid) on deals impossible to execute.
