Pros

Great place to start out a career in software development, ie don't plan on staying too long if you want a good job with decent benefits

Cons

Hearing a lot of “if you don’t like this, then leave” statements recently from the SVP of technology In the past year, they have added a new layer of middle management that has led to extreme micromanagement issues for the engineering teams Multiple people getting penalized for using PTO Feels like they are trying to run developers off in order to avoid actual layoffs Despite what the awards say, not a “Great Place to Work” currently

- Fantastic Individuals in the company I made incredible relationships inside the company. Many people here are fantastic and care deeply for each other well being. -Teamwork Vizient has great teamwork and many collaborative efforts that assist in moving the ball forward on projects.

Cons

- Base Pay Vizient is outpaced on almost metric when it comes to salary and benefits. They have lost an incredible amount of Software Engineers because they pay them much lower than their peers in the country. On top of that, they pay some Software Engineer even lower on arbitrary standards. - Healthcare Their benefits, especially for healthcare, rather a lack luster. This is funny because Vizient is the lead Healthcare GPO company in the country; yet, Vizient healthcare is an expensive premium with no co-pays and a high deductible. - PTO Vizient gives a decent amount of PTO. For myself, I get 25 PTO days a year. However, depending on your team, it can be excruciating to take PTO. - Management The management restructuring has been detrimental to the work environment at Vizient. They have implemented a top-down management style on the Software Engineers, leading to mediocre results, especially since some of the management does not have experience as a Software Engineer. They do not utilize Agile Methodologies and do not act as if they trust the developers they pay to do the jobs.
