Pros

Fun company events, very positive culture, good management team on the digital marketing side, great communication between departments, solid benefits, flexible and laid back

Cons

Salary below median, not a ton of room to be promoted, sometimes team could get a little bit too relaxed, Volusion product subpar compared to Shopify offerings

Pros

The new CEO is really trying to improve the culture at Volusion. The culture and people are the best part of Volusion and it's nice to see that some investment is finally going into keeping people around, promoting those who deserve it, and keeping our benefits competitive in the Austin tech scene. The work life balance is great with work from home days and 15+ vacation days and a varied mix of clients to work with. The web design job itself has a good mix of basic projects and ones that can really challenge and interest you. There's also good career growth through promotions and Volusion is really good about providing internal opportunities if you want to switch to a different path. Before, there was an extreme lack of focus with the 3 different brands, but now each one has a more defined path so hopefully the company and its software will continue to improve and grow!

Cons

Poor employee retention. Below average salary. Dealing with unhappy clients. Dated software. Software limitations that affect design decisions. Job environment highly depends on your manager and department.
