Pros

The best things about working at W.R. Grace are working directly with the local personnel and with knowledgeable project teams.

Cons

Due to high turnover and frequent leadership changes, the supply chain team has become increasingly inefficient and understaffed. Despite growing workloads, management refuses to increase headcount, leaving employees responsible for the work of multiple people. This has created significant stress and burnout, with minimal guidance from managers, and the little guidance offered often lacks direction or clarity. The new Chief Procurement Officer has implemented a micromanagement style, involving himself in every aspect of the work, which has slowed down processes and created a tense work environment. His management style, reminiscent of industries with different cultural expectations, includes belittling and talking down to employees, which is unacceptable in a modern corporate setting. The compensation offered does not justify the high levels of stress, workload, and lack of support. As a result, turnover continues to increase, and many employees are leaving quickly. I would not recommend this company for anyone considering a supply chain role until these structural issues are addressed, which doesn't seem to be anytime soon.

Pros

6% 401k and benifts are marginal

Cons

No work life balance, you have to live the place. Never disconnected. Clicks and you can trust absolutely no one. Buildings are old and unsafe. Needs a major facelift.

Pros

The number one reason to work for Grace is the people. For the most part you won't meet nicer or harder working people than you will here. From the bottom to the mid-level managers, I mean. The pay and benefits are not bad. Bonuses are usually paid although they would be better if based on legitimate business plans and not trumped up numbers. There are a lot of training opportunities.

Cons

You will have one of two types of bosses at Grace, one is incapable of making a decision and the other will constantly change decisions and priorities from day to day. Upper level management constantly micromanages to the point that the mid-level managers have no autonomy or decision-making authority at all. With very few exceptions no one gets promoted from mid-level manager to Director or VP level unless they have done a lot of brownnosing and backstabbing.
