Pros

The pay is good and the hours are reasonable for starting survey technicians. Definitely a lot of work to do and a lot to learn.

Cons

Things can get repetitive real quick and projects can easily start to pile up.

We appreciate your feedback and want you to know that we value everyone’s opinion. It’s so important to hear from our field personnel because each of you work with much autonomy and significant responsibility. We are constantly reviewing compensation and benefits and appreciate your feedback on pay. It’s a challenging market and your thoughts are essential for WGI to remain competitive. With thousands of active projects, I know you will start to see diversity in your projects, and in your learning. Be patient and you’ll be pleasantly surprised by the breadth of work we complete for our clients.

We appreciate your opinions on WGI being a fun place to work and on employee terminations. Enjoying the work environment is critical to our culture and success and yes, there is significant effort focused on client satisfaction and work product delivery, all while maintaining a fun and safe environment. Regarding the comment on WGI firing people all the time, I’d like you to be informed on the facts. First, WGI terminated just over 5% of our workforce in 2021 for a multitude of reasons, some related to safety, performance, and violation of polices, but all for good reason. Second, the average involuntary terminations across all U.S. businesses in 2021 was approximately 30%, so in comparison WGI performed exceptionally well. Third, within our peer group involuntary turnover averages about 4%, which is statically similar to WGI’s rate. While we would always like to see WGI do better, involuntary turnover is largely outside of our control. However, we are constantly working with professional consultants to coach and teach our hiring managers on areas of focus that enhance decision making at the time of hire, with the goal being better hiring decisions to reduce turnover.

Cons

With growth, comes challenges…new systems and people can cause impatience and frustration at times.
