Thank you for working at WGI part-time. It seems that as a part-time administrative assistant you entered WGI at one of our lowest pay scales for positions within our firm. The pay for this position is competitive with the market, and we would encourage you to consider fulltime compensation and benefits for this position with WGI. Our best with your future endeavors.

Pros

Diverse projects, good bonuses, involved management.

Cons

Not much opportunity to grow. Most of the higher positions that I have seen filled are through outside hires.

Thank you for providing your thoughts on WGI. We do take pride in the diversity of our work, clients, and geographic reach. Part of our strategy is to control as much of our destiny as possible, and diverse projects build diverse firms and diverse professionals. Typically, over 30% of profits are returned to our team members in the form of incentive compensation and the plan is designed to provide increasing levels of awards at an exponential rate in comparison to the increase in profits. Yes, the management team is very hands on at WGI. It’s part of our culture and the close integration of our team is one way of exemplifying one of our three core values: Passion for People. Growth at WGI is unlimited and I’d like you to meet with your direct supervisor (and HR if you desire) to discuss your goals and career path. We have many professionals who started with us as college graduates or as their first jobs in the marketplace that have now been with WGI for 10, 15 and 20 years. All of them have experienced increasing levels in responsibility and compensation. Let’s get you on the right plan and set in the right direction for success at WGI.

Pros

Work and people are fine

Cons

No direct type of compensation for overtime. Consider give time back in PTO for time worked over

We appreciate your candor related to overtime pay. You are correct that salaried professionals are not paid for their overtime at WGI; however, there are many positions where overtime is compensated at our firm. We do expect our professionals to complete assignments that are typically measured on a five-day (work week) duration. Because WGI is a federal contractor we must adhere to the Federal Acquisition Regulations (FARs) in regard to “giving PTO for overtime worked.” The FARs specifically prohibits this type of arrangement and WGI is not permitted to provide the option as suggested. There are other ways that you can benefit from unpaid overtime, and I would be happy to explain legal options if you reach out it me. Great suggestion!
