Pros

Never a dull moment at WHOOP! The product is killer with a lot of potential to improve it, the member base is awesome and super passionate. WHOOP tends to hire high energy and interesting people focused on health and fitness and mindfulness. Love my coworkers and the problems we get to solve together. Really nice and smart people, hearts all in the right place.

Cons

Leadership makes arbitrary decisions often, strategy is lacking. Weird "insider" feeling. Path to level up can be unclear and people get lost in the shuffle. Chaotic energy due to lack of strategy. Inconsistent remote work policies between departments is strange - why not all remote?

Pros

After 20+ years at several startups and larger tech companies, I've seen a lot. WHOOP is a world apart from most of them. Why? (1) The best of the best are employed here. You can be part of a winning team. (2) The company moves a million miles an hour. There's no room for bureaucracy or navel-gazing. We just get stuff done. Fast. (3) We're in hypergrowth. The environment is constantly changing, new people are hired every week, gazillions of new member join every day. It's not for the faint of heart, but is great for those who embrace a challenge and can think a step ahead. (4) Innovation the core of the company. We've built technology the world has never seen before. It's true today and it will be true a decade from now as well.

Cons

There's a flip side to every coin. If you need things stable, this isn't for you. If you want to not think about work before you clock in or after you clock out, this isn't for you. If you don't like to take risks working on new ideas that might fail, this isn't for you. If you don't like having to meet a really high standard for your work every day, this isn't for you.

Thank you for the thoughtful review. We continue to be impressed by the talent, passion, and commitment of everyone on the team, so thank you for recognizing that here as well. And we couldn't agree more: it's critical to communicate (with context!) to ensure alignment, understanding, and to maintain the fast pace we all operate at.

Pros

The company has a strong engineering team, and the interactions have been very positive. The engineers are engaged, collaborative, and clearly motivated to support the company’s growth.

Cons

There is a noticeable lack of diversity at the board and senior leadership levels. Without attributing intent or causality, the current composition of upper management raises concerns about whether the organization is fully assessing and advancing qualified talent from diverse backgrounds. Addressing representation and inclusion at the leadership level would strengthen decision-making, organizational credibility, and the company’s ability to attract and retain top talent.
