A toxic work environment that I’m relieved to have left behind

Pros

- The product itself is fantastic and the primary reason why the majority of employees stick around for as long as they do - Every day is an incredible opportunity to learn at the ground level at a faced paced tech company - Colleagues (the minority) who are incredible team members and care about the quality of work, putting processes in place, and sharing feedback - The bar is high for output and results. No time to sleep at WHOOP (the irony) which has attributed to the incredible growth but also to the lack of work/life balance

Cons

- The most toxic leadership I’ve ever worked for. No investment regarding professional development for anyone. Extremely passive aggressive (avoidance tactics, empty words, and unkept promises) - Simply no care for building a collaborative and transparent culture. Primary objective is to make as much money as possible as quickly as possible without a thoughtful strategy and talking/receiving input from the employees who have helped build the company - Empty promises from a career advancement perspective. Was lied to multiple times when asked about title changes, raises, and career progression. Received no feedback when asked for hands on coaching. Was blindsided multiple times when the reality of a situation was different than what I was told - Cancelled team meetings, unkept promises, manipulative communication - Personally was belittled and made to feel less than. No positive reinforcement, affirmation or acknowledgement for quality work - Selfish and egotistical leadership - Decisions are made in a closed room with no input from employees with experience and tenure

Pros

-Fully remote -Free product with +1 benefit -Fitness reimbursement -OT is offered regularly

Cons

I had incredibly high hopes when I started my career with WHOOP. Through training, we were convinced that the internal culture at WHOOP honored dedication and hard work. However, the driving focus to "move at an uncomfortable pace" has created an unreasonably stressful work environment that feels like a constant race against the clock. It is clearly evident that upper management does not trust their lower-level employees, and ticket metric quantity will always overrule the quality of care we give members. Fear-based management with a large lack of understanding of what goes on in day-to-day operation is the unspoken pillar of leadership at WHOOP. When speaking with upper management about these concerns, they were somehow shocked at the lack of common sense scattered throughout our standards and required protocol. One said, "If this keeps up, we are going to lose our top performing agents to companies that will treat and pay them better." Naturally, that is exactly what started to happen. Membership Services Representatives are constantly jumping through hoops in an attempt to appease members with little to no information regarding the valid things that they are reaching out about. So much of the pressure to find answers fall on our team managers, who are truly stuck between a rock and a hard place, trying to support us while also attempting to appease upper management. We as agents do not have the tools to be successful. How many "pilot" projects have agents been thrust into with no formal training or understanding of what was expected of them? We need to stop using the "ever-growing start-up" excuse to cover up poor management. On a more direct note, agents truly cannot do their job with tact when an overseas third party is promoting and communicating misinformation to our members at all hours of the day.

Pros

-Free product +1 for friend/family member -100% remote, -reimbursed Friday lunches -reimbursed fitness perk

Cons

-No support from HR, if you have any concerns or issues with someone/something they brush it under the rug like it doesn't exist. -There is little to no culture within this department and they refuse to offer a decent pay raise for agents. -Endless loop of providing feedback for improvements, but doesn't go anywhere. -Little to no communication when it comes to anything, causing high stress. -100% a boys club -no growth -no work/life balance
