Escalated Response Team/Customer Issue Response team, who knows?

Pros

uhhhhhhh.....I got paid every two weeks?

Cons

It's not "what you know" it's "who you know" if you want to get promoted. Management as a whole doesn't have a clue. Politics runs the company, it's like high school. The company is dependent on County Family Care contracts that may one day disappear. The company will purposely lag in posting a job description so they can get people to work for cheaper than they are worth. I worked at WPS for 6 years and left for another job doing the exact same thing and got a pay increase.

Kinda crazy...

Pros

In last year enough senior management was replaced to put the pedal to the metal and start to get some stuff done that's been sitting dormant for decades. There is an effort to try!

Cons

Too many major projects going on at once--at risk of recreating mess you are trying to fix. Not enough people and expertise to get all the work done. Ongoing professional training is virtually non-existant. Upward mobility extremely limited. Very little tolerance to risk and management by fear and micromanagement.

Pros

My co-workers and boss are great to work with. We have very good communication back and forth and it's easy to get my work done.

Cons

The upper management expects you to put in more than 8 hours of work each day. If you aren't doing overtime, you are looked down upon even if you don't have work. I've asked for additional work and responsibilities and have received neither. I am looked down upon if i have a doctor's appointment or i get sick and have to miss work. I use my PTO however; i'm expected to make up the hours that i missed. I have to dress up on a daily basis which isn't bad, but when i sit in my cubical all day long and don't go to meetings, spending $$$ on women's dress close is costly and a waste since I'm not seen by anyone but my co-workers around me. It wouldn't be so bad if my salary would increase more than 2-3% each year. I've worked at WPS for over 10 years and i haven't hit $50,000 yet, I have had outstanding performance reviews and never ending promises of promotions and raises; however nothing has happened yet.
