Pros

Great office location, casual dress code and some really smart employees

Cons

Terribly underpaid (at the lower levels AND the senior levels). It takes 7-9 years to reach a level that provides a salary comparable to what many companies in the area offer after a few years! This company is trying to stay current and adopt new cultural trends such as casual work attire and monthly happy hours but they are still bound by the same old policies and company structure when it comes to advancement and benefits. The pay is so poor that the only employees that stay with them are lazy, underperforming ones or the ones who are still holding on to the empty promise of advancement and this only causes incoming talent to leave quicker as they are saddled with the additional work of team members who don't pull their weight while still being compensated with pennies. The dissatisfaction with management and benefits is a cancer that affects the culture and spreads to new hires as quickly as they sign their acceptance letter.

Great Place To Work

Pros

There's a good feeling of empowerment within the organization - from the top down they give you the rope to learn and grow, and the support needed if you fail. They encourage teamwork. They pay well. They have a good 401k match - they have a pension plan available for certain higher level employees.

Cons

40% of the people do 80% of the work. These 40% of the workforce are overworked and overwhelmed and have little time to train and empower others to grow. This is a recipe for short term success but makes it difficult in the long term

Pros

Lots of cool and interesting things to learn if given time. Work from home flexibility.

Cons

Massive workloads with an expectation to put in 50 to 60+ hours per week. Huge workloads lead to high stress which leads to rude behavior and makes for a hostile work environment. No time to train once you have clients assigned to you as you are expected to bill client hours the majority of your work day. Upper management is hyper-focused on billing client hours instead of doing quality work. Placing totally inexperienced people into management or lead positions, which only increased the overall lack of support and increased strain on the overall workload. Overloaded managers who constantly cancel their one on ones as they simply don't have the bandwidth to be managers.
