Pros

* Decent pay for a call center * Paid holidays and a good amount of PTO time to start

Cons

* Unrealistic views of how much team members can get done * Hiring managers from outside the company rather than from within * No real training plan to teach new leaders how to manage time, coach their peers, or address the CSRs * Leadership is more interested in numbers and trends than their employees

Sales with little substance

Pros

Fairly low stress environment unless you are a new sales producer still trying to hit your magic number. Work-life balance is good.

Cons

Individual offices are very territorial...collaboration between offices is basically non-existent. This stems directly from the fact that Willis is essentially a pure sales organization with little substance in the form of value-add consulting, etc. There is a "national practice" that attempts to develop and market value-add services for all individual office locations, but it is not good and most people quite frankly don't pay much attention. It's really all about generating sales and maintaining client relationships with as little value-add as possible. The revenue generated from carrier placement far exceeds any revenue generated from value-add services, and has a much lower cost to the company so it is easy see why this is the case. Although more sophisticated companies in this space have far more comprehensive service offerings and appear to be doing very well because of it.

Thank you for your review and providing feedback. As you stated, we are not the largest insurance broker, but we do strive to be the best in the business. We recognize that we cannot obtain our goal of becoming the best without a strong foundation built on values. At the beginning of summer, Willis rolled out our new core values consisting of: advocacy, respect, integrity, teamwork, and development. Upon implementing these values all offices hosted town hall meetings and collaborative small group sessions to dive into the importance of our values. For Willis to continue to be successful in the global marketplace, all employees must work daily with our values in mind. Clearly, we recognize we need to incorporate these values into our business model to stay competitive in the ever changing global insurance and risk management arena. With that being said, the culture shift Willis is currently undergoing, within the framework of our new core values, is a process, and like all processes is ongoing and takes time. We are continuously striving to be an employer of choice and we believe that starts with having strong values and colleagues who are best in class.
