Pros

-You can expense basically anything - Leadership is skin deep so if you can portray yourself a certain way, they'll favor you. - Office outings (if you like your team) can be fun - Snacks (kinda) -Work-life balance

Cons

-I was never paid on commission owed to me before leaving. -I was instructed to trespass onto the property of potential customers "the back way" if a gatekeeper wasn't helpful, or we couldn't get in the front door. - Toxic work culture - No clear direction. I was terminated due to productivity but was also being given direction from 2 people (leadership) to do the complete opposite of one another. - My office, in particular, made me feel uncomfortable asking for none diet/KETO food and was told I needed "management approval" since that office doesn't buy "junk food" (other offices were not this way) - Unethical practices like changes a customer's discount rate without their knowledge or consent to make a better margin for commission. - Unethical practices like telling a customer we have a team for rates but in reality, you are going to take their current invoices, sit at your desk, and see how we can nickel and dime to get our rate just under their current providers' rates.

Thank you for taking the time to leave a review. I'm assuming you work for one of our few remaining franchises. Worldwide Express Corporate always pays earned commission, even when you're on the way out. Worldwide Express Corporate relies on our Account Executives to set the pricing on simple deals but we also have an in house team of Strategic Pricing Analyst that assist with large and more complex deals.

Pros

Cool office, fun co workers, really good technology upgrades coming in the future, open minded, accepting

Cons

Shady business practices(back dooring business is encouraged by mgt even when there’s multiple signs posted saying employees only), not paid mileage and you’re usually driving about 2,000-3,000 miles a month, must report to office in Morning and afternoon just so MGR can see your face & you socialize with co workers which means you must leave the field in the early afternoon to avoid traffic To be back in time to socialize for an hour, you will spend several hours (8+ additional hrs) outside the typical hours you’re required to work since mgt doesn’t Want you working on cost analysis during the day since that’s “Sales time” , doing pricing Analysis that may or may not get you the deal, if UPS or freight messes up you may lose the deal and it’s out of you’re control, commission is usually paid on the third month from you closing deal, if your customer gets behind on payments then you don’t get paid commission so you’re also a bill collector, the commission percentage you make per shipment is so low it’s a joke since the market is saturated w freight reps so the Margin is already tight even with saving 3-5%, you’re competing with UPS and Unishipper reps for the same business and if you find a solid small pack deal UPS can deny you working it and just say “their rep is working it” when in reality they just pass that on as a lead to their rep and there’s nothing you can do even if the customer wants to ship with you. So long story short- Great job for getting experience , the longer you stay the more stressful it is since you’re having to double what you bring on every year but working in the same territory essentially. Not to mention sales offices are getting bigger so more people to deal with when it comes to them taking deals behind Your back, Yes pay gets better with time but with the amount of effort and hard word you put in you still are being underpaid by not receiving mileage checks and greater percentage on commission.

Thank you for taking the time to leave your comments. Worldwide Express is proud to be recognized as an Inc. Magazine, Best Place to Work. Additional awards and accolades within individual states have also put us on the map as an employer of choice. As for the sales practices and modern tactics, it's what makes us a unique, dynamic sales force. We support our reps by paying a monthly car and cell phone allowance as well as offer uncapped residual commission plans for the life of the account. Our sales teams do come into the office, mainly to take advantage of continuous live training opportunities while building a phenomenal competitive culture. Every sales job is stressful and every sales position has it's challenges. WWEX offers you a career, not just a job.
