      Great Hours and Pay in the Restaurant Industry

      Pros

      Pay is the highest I have seen in the food industry. The hours are consistently in the morning, and your schedule (barring weather emergencies) is set a year in advance. You get three ten day vacations a year.

      Cons

      You are responsible for a 24 hour restaurant. That means if something happens overnight that your team gets in over their head, you need to help them handle it.

      Ability to grow in company All senior management is promoted from within, all of your bosses have been in your position before performance based salary 3.5 weeks vacation time Stock options and stock purchase plans Insurance benefits Weekend off every 6 weeks(big deal in the restaurant business) Being a fixture in the community, getting to be in the people business and getting to know everyone. As a unit manager, you are the owner in every aspect except paying the rent. Great support system from senior management.

      Working holidays. If your not organized and able to recruit, hire and retain quality associates, you will be working a lot.

      Cons

      Work every major holiday, company is always adding extra work for managers to do. Long days, not a good work/life balance. On call 24 hours a day, will get calls and texts on off days even though your not supposed to. Managers do job of up to 4 people a day.
