Pros

Waitrose has a good scheme benefits discount in store and at john Lewis. Every year they give there partners a bonus which is great.

Cons

The pay is average for a beginner. it could better as I have worked for the company for nearly 10 years and to get a pay rise it is impossible.

Pros

Excellent hours for part time staff- regular contracted hours, plus flexibility to take on more, covering other shifts. Time and a half on Sundays. Trusted to get on with it, particularly behind counters in larger stores (eg. Canary Wharf flagship).

Cons

Often too much pressure to cover others' shifts. Those working part time round studies, particularly sixth formers or college students, may not be able to be as flexible, esp living at home with parents. Pressure should be lessened, so employee doesn't feel inadequate if not able to regularly cover shifts, esp with last minute notice.
