Pros

Large company that continues to grow, therefore opportunity to continue career growth. Pay is actually very competitive. There are career options in a variety of disciplines if you are willing to move to Bentonville or internationally. Most positions are in retail operations, but there are a limited number of corporate support positions based in cities such as Dallas, Chicago, Atlanta, Phoenix, and others. The company is one of the most stable companies around, so there is generally job security, but only if you are achieving expectations.

Cons

It's retail, meaning it isn't glamorous and everyone has an opinion about the company due to its size. Stores generally operate around the clock, 7 days per week, so work weeks are long for store operations and support roles. Annual raises are very conservative, so you have to keep pressing for promotions, which may require relocation to another city or a stint in Bentonville. Goals are aggressive, and resources are what you would expect from a discount retailer, light.

Pros

A few of the best reasons to work at walmart are because you get decent benefits once youre there at least a year with a bonus every few months and a discount card...there is decent ways to advance in the job as well.

Cons

Though there seems to be way more drama than high school working at walmart you just need to keep looking past it...Dont be discourged by the time limits they give you to do things just ignore them most managers ignore most of the rules anyways...
