Pros

Great company with a very casual atmosphere. Amazing people in business to work with. Flexible hours and office is located in a great NYC location.

Cons

Current CIO treats people poorly and wastes time. He produces vaporware! He doesn't know to take care of good people. He lacks technical and leadership skills. Hence, he has produced a toxic and stressful environment.

You get paid like it's still 1995

Pros

Some work perks - Free bagels on certain days, some pizza and sodas on special work-related parties. Maybe once or twice a year you get to see artists on the label, most likely ones you don't recognize, so you realize they were an artist after they leave. Office is located in a nice quiet neighborhood. Benefits are O K. You only get 10 vacation days a year though, to start off.

Cons

- low low low pay. It's so ridiculously low that you wonder how other colleagues survive off of it. I'm assuming they all have a side income coming in or live in a tuna can and walk everywhere. You get paid like you're still in the 1900s where rent couldn't possibly be more than $700 and you paid $1 for a gal of gas. - No room for growth or promotion. Most likely will not happen unless you decide to devote your life to this company, minimum 7-10 years, and considering how they pay you, I doubt you would want to stay for that long. - Supervisors often have no clue what they are doing, yet they try to micromanage you and wants to feel superior just because of their title. Please have a seat. Overall, if you are expecting some amazing opportunities and have a fantasy about working in a major record label, drop all of that now, and consider applying for a different company. Warner is only going down from here. I wouldn't expect a great future in this company. First of all, they have very little appreciation for employees. That's already a red flag.

Pros

1. There are quarterly events and a killer Christmas party. 2. Cool to say you work in the music industry. 3. Most of the folks are cool. 4. Casual dress environment. 5. Labels are doing well.

Cons

1. The IT department has had 6 CIOs in the past 4 years, there is a reason for this and that is because the CEO does not want to spend money on improving systems nor the infrastructure. This has lead to a +35% reduction in head count. It is truly a skeleton crew left is that stressed and have very low morale and they have seen their colleagues be let go. 2. Throughout the entire company there are minimal opportunities to move up, promotions are scarce. 3. Poor work life balance in IT, the other departments seem to be much better though. 4. IT is heavily leveraging off-shore resources, coupled with low morale and new leadership that knows nothing about the music industry it is a bad place to work. 5. There is a clear delineation between IT and the other areas of the company, starting off with IT being 3 floors below the rest of the business and completely left alone where all the other WMG floors are connected by a beautiful lobby and staircase.
