Pros

Buckle up for the highlights: the performance review process is a laugh riot—vague, inconsistent, and a total time-suck. The quarterly check-ins are a gem, where you’ll hear “excellent job!” only to get slapped with a poor rating during the APR—like, what even is the point? And scope for growth? Amazing, if you’re into chasing a mirage while stuck in the same spot forever. Truly a motivational masterpiece.

Cons

Management is all about talking transparency and communication, but it’s pure lip service. Leadership swears they’re open, yet critical info is locked away, and feedback vanishes into the ether. The disconnect is wild—praised in check-ins, then blindsided with a lousy APR rating with zero explanation. You’re left scrambling to figure out what’s going on, and asking for clarity gets you nothing but buzzwords or awkward silence. It’s almost an art form how they say one thing and do the opposite.

Pros

- Filled with some of the brightest scientists and engineers I've ever had the pleasure of working with - Lots of autonomy (in my role at least) - Excellent training - Stability - Solid 401k match - Good location (not in Boston!)

Cons

- Poor compensation package (mediocre salary, NO BONUS, no equity-ownership opportunities) - Laughable vacation time (2 weeks until you hit 10yrs of service, then you get one more! Woohoo!) - Poor work life balance (very long hours, no flexibility on schedule, no opportunities to work from home) - Too many "lifers" are stuck in their old ways and insist on dragging down the business - Tenure is rewarded over results - No real career growth opportunities - Medical benefits are sub-par - Too many layers of ineffective management - Innovation gets lots of lip service, but in practice, real innovation is stifled - No accountability, no one seems to have any authority to actually drive change - Antiquated systems (software, IT, etc)

Pros

I can't think of any.

Cons

There were zero expectations set from management starting day 1 and no clear training path. They really don't seem to care about you at all and HR is clueless about what's actually going on. Terrible management who doesn't take responsibility for their own poor leadership. There are people there who should not be managing but are, and it shows. No clear promotion path set either. If you want to work for a company that values its employees, do not work here!
