It was the best company I have ever worked for, until it wasn't...
Pros
The people... The best part about Wavetronix was the people. Before things changed... Everyone greeted you with a smile. That changed unfortunately. Health Savings Account, 401K with good matching, good dental plan. Wavetronix has in the past built a very friendly environment between coworkers and even on the management level. Time is flexible, deadlines are flexible, the company does seem to care about individuals in general. Management and the CEO are really good people for the most part, if anything their good intentions are what is causing the cons below... Great intentions, but poor execution at best. Some other reviews have mentioned nepotism, and honestly, that is in there in the mix. However, it is a private company, what should anyone expect? If it was my company, I would give my kids a job too when they were old enough to carry any responsibility... Anyone expecting anything less than that, has never lived in the real world... Duh! <- I would not knock off a point for this... If anything, it would be for giving jobs to people who are not qualified, whether it was family member or not. Regardless, they honestly do try to make everyone feel like family... At least as long as you do not question or complain about things like training...
Cons
Management at some point decided they cannot trust employees it felt like. They were constantly adding to this idea with things like training. Its like we are running a marathon to prove ourselves trustworthy for some reason. Where did the trust go, why hire and maintain an employee that you do not trust? Training. Training comes before everything else... Even deadlines and company moral as a whole... The largest con is training. Firstly, the training team is not even properly trained to be teaching this content (memorizing content does not make you good teacher of it)... Its is so dry most the time it is unbearable. At first the training seemed good, the training was meant to encourage personal growth... However, that being said, personal improvement has to be on a personal level, and a personal choice, one size does not fit all, and the training programs become a huge waste of time, and it got to the point where it was easier to figure out how to game the system, and figure out how to "please" the training group and management than it was to really invest time in the personal growth. Your pay, your standing with the company as a whole, and any advancement is directly tied to your training, and your attitude towards training, and on that note, any complaint, or even critiquing of training was looked at as non conformity as if though you were no longer a team player. Therefore adding your name to the list of people who do not belong to this company. The training content was not bad, most of the content was great, and honestly could be made to be super fun, and super simple to learn and an enjoyable process. However, it was turned into a cookie cutter system where it was made to be bland and boring, it was like you were in grade school again learning about the boring subjects you had no interest in, and you were there just counting the minutes until class was over so you could get back to real life and actually get your work done. Personal growth should not be so drab and boring, that is the old way of doing things. So, I suppose on that note, if you loved the public school system, and the way they make one size fit all... Then you might actually love this training as well.
