Pros

-Snack Wall (since you won't be able to afford meals at home) -ERGs (Employee Resource Groups) that are readily available and easy to join -HealthCare starting day 1. Eye coverage is very good! -Dependent on department, managers tend to care and give learning opportunities

Cons

-you will always be paid less than an external hire. i.e. I have been with Wayfair for three years but new managers in my same role and department make $5-10k more than I do. -High Turnover. Because of low comp and zero work/life balance your team will constantly change and good luck getting any huge projects done. I've know fellow employees who have had 3+ managers every year. How can you judge performance or merit if you don't know your employees??? -Men and Women are not paid equally. At all. I know of multiple situations where multiple employees we're hired at the same time but the female employees made lower wages even though their responsibilities and expectations were the same. (5k discrepancy in most cases)

Good and Bad

Pros

There are some smart, motivated people working there and lots of opportunity to switch teams. Lots of work is being done to correct the technical mistakes of the past.

Cons

Open office plan is terrible. Instead of having enough conference rooms, there are open collaboration areas that people use instead. If you sit near one of those, good luck getting any work done. Snack and food selection is on par with a bootstrapped startup, not a Fortune 500 "tech company".

Beware of HR

Pros

The work was relatively easy, the benefits are decent and affordable. The employee discount was great.

Cons

The Delivery Agent I worked at was managed very poorly and when me and my coworkers raised our concerns after blatant nepotism in their hiring/firing practices became clear, most of the staff was fired including myself.
