Pros

I interviewed in early 2016. + Easy to build up network + Fun, young, "startup", "tech" culture/roots with perks like free snacks and beer and sponsored team outings each month + Open-office environment + Smart, hardworking people + Co-founders (Niraj and Steve) are down-to-earth and transparent about their vision and struggles + Most business teams have decent work-life balance (35-45 hours/week with opportunities for teams to grab beer on Friday afternoons and relax a bit) + Recruiters are honest about salary and benefits although they oversell the stock options + Lots of flexible vacation time at the cost of very few company-wide holidays

Cons

- Rapid turnover - Every team is understaffed and underpaid - Unclear direction / prioritization of initiatives and projects - Management lacks sufficient training (promoted too quickly) - Recent focus on overqualified, "prestigious" staff (e.g. consulting backgrounds, MBAs, top tier graduates) - Company is growing too quickly - Even internal transfers are unnecessarily complicated and unclear with additional interviews and steps being added at a whim

Pros

It offers a competitive hourly wage, great for college students, or supplemental income. It has decent benefits and a 401 k, a nice facility if you don't want to work at home. A good place to meet people, as everyone is dating someone there!

Cons

You will start as an agent, taking back to back calls most days. You will take approximately 12 or more calls per hour, so about 96 calls per day I believe. If you are rated as per your stats as #200, then you will have to bid 200 times for a schedule you want. Most likely you will not get any of your choices and will be stuck with this schedule for the next 6 months. If you are offered to go up to the next level of seniority you will be given a small pay increase however you will be asked to do so much more for that little compensation. You are also given vacation time, however they slowly release it a few hours per pay check...So it will take one year to accrue your vacation time, and near impossible to request that time off as mine has been denied twice. You will also be required to work a lot of mandatory overtime in the months of November, December and January.

Pros

-Fun work environment and beautiful office. I had a blast during my time at Wayfair. You'll make lifelong friends. So many smart people. -Fast company growth can open doors and give you experiences that you wouldn't have received at a slower company - especially if you're an entry-level employee. While you won't always get a promotion or a pay increase to go with it, it will make you more valuable to other employers.

Cons

-Your experience as an employee can vary drastically depending on your department, team, and manager (which will likely change within your first year). -Lots of new people who don't always know what they're doing. In my opinion, this company grew too quickly. -Compensation is pretty far below market rate in Boston for just about every department. Too many people take a pay cut when hired into Wayfair. -Work/life balance can be pretty terrible, but again, it depends on your department. Too many people burn out and end up having to leave, and it's tough to watch. -Diversity is an issue. As others have said, there is an increasingly elitist feel to the company, with many ivy league and consulting alumni at the company. Wayfair is large enough now that hiring, developing, and promoting people with many different backgrounds needs to be a priority.
