Pros
It's a remote working environment
Cons
Where to even begin. Base pay is abysmal, quota has been consistently unattainable in my experience and was completely misguided by a bunch of assumptions that haven’t reflected reality. Inbound leads? You can go ahead and forget about those, and they're supposed to be half of your pipeline. When you DO get an inbound lead it will more than likely be for a puny AI deal that is hardly worth your time. The average deal size they expect is laughable. Despite warning management of all of this, no change was made to anyone's quota, and you're just expected to make more dials to get to where you need to be. On the topic of dials, you're expected to make no LESS than 35 per day to your book of 700+ accounts, along with prospecting, managing pipeline, and running demos. I should also mention that you're expected to act as a CSM for that portfolio of accounts, helping them with their invoicing, teaching them about the products, dealing with escalations, saving them from churning, holding them to their contracts when they want to cancel, etc. All of that is expected to take up maybe 10% of your time because management wants you focused on sales. Think that sounds impossible? It is. You'll either fall really behind and be in a constant state of catch-up, or put in extra hours to stay on top of everything. You won't have any quality training on how to handle anything either because no one even knows what the roles and responsibilities of this team are, and there are very few structured or accurate SOPs for anything anywhere. You'll be relying on legacy knowledge passed down from other team members. The CSMs this team often ends up absorbing issues that don’t clearly fall elsewhere. Many ad-hoc tasks, escalated situation, or grey area where something doesn't clearly fall under another team tends to fall on your plate. Do you like calling members who have past due balances to collect on them and being a debt-collector? You'll love it here. Oh and you also should sell them something while you're at it because they love that. And when they tell you they want to cancel you'll tell them that they're stuck in a contract for the next 2 years. Any time anything goes awry, you’re often expected to have the answers across teams, the solution, and to be the one to communicate that back to members. In regard to internal teams, this company runs off of a skeleton crew after endless layoffs that occurred over the past few years. And while there are a handful of competent people spread throughout the company, a revolving door of management, priorities & goals, changes in internal processes that aren't communicated, lack of SOPs, short-term cost-cutting decisions and operational inefficiencies make it nearly impossible for things to get done smoothly and without error. Since you're the AM you'll be cleaning up all of those errors and babysitting everything you have outstanding internally. Management is gung-ho on offshoring as much as they possibly can to cut costs and offshored teams often struggle with more complex or nuanced issues, which really comes in handy when they're responsible for the accurate invoicing of the entire member base, and you need them to fix things. You'll basically be doing their job too. If you can't tell, the overall culture here has gotten worse and worse, and it's the most toxic workplace I've ever experienced. My mental health has legitimately declined since working here. Everyone is constantly worried they'll be put on a PIP if they have a bad month (which they will do to you), leadership does not listen or even seem to care, frankly, about what anyone thinks apart from squeezing every penny they possibly can out of members. Many people are miserable here, and I would stay far far away if you were considering this role, or this company.
