A sinking ship

Pros

Great comraderie from fellow sufferers. Decent office venue with several places to go for regular escapes from the micro-managed, Hell.

Cons

Read the other real reviews (not the fake ones - easy to spot) and they all say the same. The company would run fine without the control-freak of an owner . His traits include: - Micro-management (daily/weekly reports, podcasts, recorded videos). - Refuses to accept that things are broken, e.g. launching edu software not fit for purpose. - Self-important and bullying (he publicly shouted at and sacked a graduate for daring to ask him a question). - Misogenist (read other reviews). - Unwilling to listen (has several failed products that he believes are transformational despite nobody ever buying them). - Mean and penny pinching. - Changes his mind with the wind. Will openly contradict himself day after day after day This causes a revolving door of people, poor customer service, and the result is clients leaving like rats from a sinking ship. Luckily there are better employers in West Yorkshire and across the Pennines so you don't have to be sucked into the madness. My advice: RUN !!!!

Pros

The other people that work there are great, they are all amazing at their jobs and when I started the were really helpful and made me feel welcome.

Cons

There is a reason all the REAL reviews from staff all say the same thing, it’s all true. The CEO micromanages the daylights out of every person there, he doesn’t trust them to do their jobs even though they are all more than capable. He also makes terrible decisions, E.g. forcing the sales staff to sell a product that hasn’t even been finished yet, which then had a massive knock on effect for customers having to wait way longer than was promised for the software which was rushed out due to the promises made and had loads of bugs. I’ve never dealt with so many customer complaints in one job. It’s very surprising they have any customers left at all. Not once was there any sort of acknowledgment or apology for his mistakes, instead blame was shifted onto staff. Staff kept on leaving and new staff would either be fired with no real reason or leave very quickly. It was honestly a complete mess. Also, as mentioned in the other comments, staffs’ days were also filled with doing stupid tasks the CEO decided for them on a whim, trying to reach ridiculous targets that seemed to have just been set for the heck of it, and in a lot of pointless meetings.
