Pros

What training you get is nice

Cons

VERY unprofessional and stressful environment. Managers-including regional like to talk about you behind your back to other leasing agents. I would not recommend this job to anyone.

Thank you for taking the time to share your work experience at Weinstein Properties. It is great to hear that you enjoyed the training part of your position. We are disappointed though to hear that you felt there was unprofessional behavior from your management team. We assure you that this kind of behavior is not tolerated within our company. We wish this had been brought to our attention while you were still working for us so that we could have discussed this with you and looked into anything you felt was unprofessional. It is important to us that you know that we do promote growth from within wherever possible. When an employee is recognized for performance, we work closely with them to grow their talents and find positions that best suit their skill set. We do wish your experience had turned out for the better and apologize that you were unhappy. We wish you all the best in your future endeavors!

Thank you for taking the time to share your review of Weinstein Properties. It is great to hear that you enjoyed working with your team and that you thought they were cool! We would like to take a moment to address your comment regarding overtime. You’re right – we do try to limit overtime hours. When a maintenance employee responds to an after-hours call, their time is rearranged within the same week (when possible) to allow the employee to leave early or come in late one day (or days). We feel this approach allows team members their personal time while also considering property expenses. Also, it seems that you may have a concern with your supervisor. While supervisors do have responsibilities outside of completing work orders or turns, it is important that everyone feel part of the team. We strongly encourage you to reach out to your manager or property director to talk through any concerns you may have.

Pros

This company has an exceptional business structure when it comes to policy and procedure. The training department is amazing, and I suggest anyone looking to get their feet wet in the property management industry this is a great place to learn the business. The on-site management staff is eager to watch their employees grow, if you fit "the mold" you will have potential to grow quickly, however that is only if you fit their mold (does not mean that your qualified for that growth) for growth. This company does believe in cross training( only so that they do not have to pay you for the tasks that you are completing), so when you do decide to leave you have a working knowledge of all aspects of property management. (which is truly a disservice to themselves as a company, employees gain the knowledge and jump ship every day!!!)

Cons

This company is not truthful throughout the hiring process, and do not disclose the lack of bonuses until after the offer is made. They also make false promises when it comes to growth and development of true talent. There is also a constant change in staffing in which has become known as the "Weinstein Shuffle", you will move from one property to another frequently. This company only looks out for the best interest of their company and brand, and could careless about their employees. They attempt to manage your finances if you decide to live on site by deducting the your rent out of every check. The rental discount is not enough for the requirements they issue for an on site employee/resident.

Thank you for sharing your feedback of Weinstein Properties. It is great to hear that you liked our policy structure and that you had such a positive experience with our training department. Regarding bonuses, we firmly believe in recognizing and rewarding our employees for their achievements and bonuses are awarded to employees based on the team’s quarterly performance. Rather than offer commissions, which aren’t always guaranteed and can create an environment that doesn’t foster teamwork, our bonuses encourage property and team success thus offering a more stable structure. We’re sorry if you were expecting commissions or other bonuses in addition to that. We do appreciate your comments regarding staffing and assure you that it is not our intention to “shuffle” team members around. It is after much consideration and weighing of options that employees are transferred to a different property. It is our belief that any changes are in the best interest of the employee and the team. We are happy to offer our employees rental discounts when they choose to live at a Weinstein community and please know that we are not attempting to manage employees’ finances. You are correct - rent payments are automatically deducted from the employee’s paycheck however, this saves the employee from having to make a payment on their own time. We appreciate feedback and wish you all the best in your future endeavors!
