      Pros

      Worked for westat 32 yrs was very good till the older board started to retire and they brought in a new ceo about 6 yrs ago or so things started to change very slowly till all of the board members were retired then he brought a lot of his former colleagues and the changes started to move very quick playoffs ect ,the higher ups never made a effort to take a walk around the buildings to meet the people that help make the company that it is , never came to departments and ask us about equipment that needed to updated they would say this is what you get, loved working there with a lot of good people who are like family but those days are over

      Cons

      Laying off a lot of people that work or worked in some very important departments, hope this does not come back to bite them ,can see the company being sold in a few yrs I really think this part of the master plan

      Pros

      Smart, dedicated employees. Interesting projects and, depending on your manager, there can be great room to grow and develop professionally. Okay in terms of competitive pay, especially when you advocate for yourself.

      Cons

      The support staff isn't always firing on all cylinders. Benefits are the bare minimum. The decent health insurance plan has a very high monthly premium. Parental leave policy is among the worst in our industry.
