Pros

Great work, the dedication to research is the gold standard. ESOP. Working with really good people in a non-competitive atmosphere. On site cafeteria and Gym. On site, well-staffed research library.

Cons

Inconsistent employee policies across the company, flexible hours and teleworking are not company standards. Weak management skills in the middle and upper tiers. No clear career paths for any employees unless you are being shown favoritism. Promotions are not opened to all to apply for, they rely on favoritism. No concrete measurement of employees work performance, annual reviews are done by perception. On the other end of that, no concrete method of salary raises or bonuses based on performance.

Work-life balance is the main asset. The company is flexible with personal schedules and it is easy to work from home. Working along very kind and smart people who have a strong sense of mission is very rewarding! Some teams encourage professional development such as attending conferences.

Cons

Salaries are low and there are few opportunities for promotion as the company rewards tenure more than performance. The corporate culture is hierarchical and bureaucratic and disinclined to innovate.
