Pros

Has remained an independent company over the years due to the founding family still controlling the company via a special class of stock with extra voting rights.

Cons

Faces competition from much larger companies, in a consolidating market. Company has been undergoing a major strategic refocus - most of the growth is expected from recent acquisitions.

Pros

Good Location with a Good Facility. Many of the Long Time Employees are Wonderful!! IT/IS department is great and lead by a talented, respectful Leader. Comptroller & Finance Directors are all Very Sharp and very well versed! Sales team is very solid but needs more support from corporate. Majority owner of the company is a very good man whom seems completely fair and trustworthy. Benefits were competitive. Salaries are Mostly Fair.

Cons

Executive Team as a Whole is far too detached from the reality of the market & their customers. Several executives believe they cannot be burdened with the details, while those details are crucial to the decisions which drive the company. This simply cannot take place at a company of Westell’s size. Compensation of the Executive Team is likely a burden to the company's operating efficiency. Many inefficiencies & short coming for Westell are entirely avoidable, yet lack any action or concern, consistently costs the company in revenue and operating costs. Quite simply, it has become a "Mini Tellabs".
