Pros

Supportive, Inclusive. Collaborative. Offers Great Work-Life Balance, Flexible schedules to fit your program of study. Opportunities for personal growth.

Cons

The campus is very large, events are at different locations which require a great amount of walking or driving and searching for parking.

Pros

Good benefits and many activities in which to engage.

Cons

*Upper management and politics are horrible. *No autonomy to do your job. You're told what to do by others who haven't done it and you're the fall guy for when it goes wrong. *Many macro and micro-aggressions towards those who have been at WMU for many years, know what they're doing, and push back at upper management. Examples include: taking long-time employees out of their current position and placing them on "special assignment" and not considering them for other open positions. *Any merit raises are used as a tool for compliance and in some cases are not truly measurable but based on how your supervisor feels you portray certain attributes (i.e. Passion for your work/WMU). *Upper management watches employees especially those who are not their direct reports, then brings their concerns about that behavior to the supervisor for which the supervisor either needs to defend the behavior (i.e. employee had permission) or work to "change" a behavior that they themselves had to issue with.
