Great place to get into the financial industry

Pros

Mostly flexible schedule. Off on every holiday. Sales managers are great to work for. Salary while you're in training, then a subsidy that doesn't require pay back.

Cons

Commissioned sales. Managers in training receive no special compensation or time management consideration. Quick turn-over of employees does not allow your book of business to know most rep's names.

Company is very old, and financially strong. Good benefits, health care is exceptional. The ability to have a flexible schedule.

Cons

Micro management! Corners are cut. Nickle and dime sales reps to death. Behind the times technologically. Products are very expensive. Middle management doesn't back up the sales reps. Ivory tower upper management way out of touch with reality. Seeks lower income clients who cannot afford the product. Unrealistic underwriting times. Reluctance to accept normal risk. (A lot is sent to reinsurance)
