Pros

Most front-line managers are very reasonable and don't micro-manage. Attractive health benefits, pension, savings plans. Opportunities for promotion. Opportunities for travel.

Cons

Budgets have been tightened since acquisition by Toshiba. Benefits package still attractive but in decline. Unsuccessful in securing sales; jobs in the pipeline are lacking. Looming threat of layoffs.

Pros

The pay here is a little bit higher than a lot of other companies in the area Flexible Schedule if you aren't a shift worker Tuition reimbursement

Cons

Bureaucracy can sometimes prevent common sense decisions You work around a lot of dangerous chemicals Decisions affecting the plant site specifically often have to go way up the chain before anything can be done

Pros

The salary and benefits for the most part are good in comparison to other companies in the Pittsburgh area.

Cons

Very political organization. Very weak management. Promotions only based on who you know and not on what you know or your experience. It is a "who you know organization."
