Pros

Good Salary, Close To My Hometown, Exposed to PLC programming manufacturing, and testing, and chances for start up activities

Cons

They don't expand past nuclear, so if something bad happens industry wide they are greatly affected. In my 5 years at the company I saw a huge renassaince turn into a struggling to maintain competitive energy producing plants. Natural Gas and Fukushima have had big impacts on the nuclear industry.

Pros

Tough times for the company and the overall Nuclear Industry. If you have a good work ethic and are dedicated to focusing on what you can do to add value, you will be recognized and appreciated. New leadership is fresh, open honest and candid but different from past leaders which is needed now based on what is happening in the industry. They are focused on very basic changes to core processes that should already be in place and are critical to the company's success. This has always been a difficult industry but the new AP1000 is great technology and I have faith in the future and how Westinghouse can help the world.

Cons

The way the company is organized makes it hard to implement global changes. There are silos and redundant activities within and across the businesses that add cost and inefficiency. It is tough to make changes across the company because there are too many decision makers who are seriously dedicated to doing what is right for the company but are used to running their businesses and providing services as they have in the past.
